FedEx Freight, Inc. seeks a professional driver responsible for operating tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks, and performing safety pre/post/inter-trip inspections.

You will handle freight using forklifts and pallet jacks, secure loads, and maintain required documentation. The role requires a CDL A (or CLP), valid MVR, and DOT compliance, with strong math, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or a commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and customers to determine pick-up/delivery needs.
• Provide customer service and solicit additional business opportunities.
• Where needed, perform road driver or freight handler duties.
