Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL driver to operate tractor-trailers and deliver between service centers. You will perform safety inspections, log daily activity, and follow dispatch guidance, possibly handling forklifts and dock work as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance with DOT rules, and customer service while supporting freight movement across routes; starting pay is competitive hourly with full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or a commercial learning permit before entry.
• Acceptable MVR per hiring standards and DOT regulatory requirements.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills; able to follow instructions.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, and handle trailers repeatedly throughout shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from equipment.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and required documentation.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions on delays or issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and company procedures as needed.
• Assist with city driving or freight handling when required.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as directed.
