Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations and support dock duties at the facility. The role includes pre/post-trip inspections, freight handling with forklifts and pallet jacks, securing cargo, and assisting with customer service and dispatch coordination.

Qualified applicants must have a Class A CDL or CLP, a clean MVR, and must meet DOT requirements. The position offers hourly pay and benefits as listed by FedEx Freight.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down sets of trailers requiring ~100 pounds lift, several times daily.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to 100 pounds several times a week.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of trucks.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, equipment issues.
• Demonstrate customer service with internal and external customers.
