Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailers and participate in the movement of trailers between service centers. This role may include forklift operation and dock work. Starting pay is $24.42 per hour with potential for overtime and overnight schedules.

Requirements include a valid CDL or CLP, acceptable MVR, and DOT knowledge. Tasks include pre-/post-trip inspections, logs, hazardous materials compliance, and customer service. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• CDL or CLP required before entering job classification (per posting).
• MVR must meet hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulations under FMC rules.
• Basic math and counting skills required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift average 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, and climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies to/from tractors.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Verify and complete required documentation.
• Follow Dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding requirements.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Perform freight handling as needed with equipment.
• Chain tires as required.
• Follow laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
