Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking candidates for a driving and dock-hand role involving operation of tractor-trailer units, safety inspections, and freight handling. The position emphasizes adherence to DOT regulations and customer service during pick-ups and deliveries.

Starting rate and hourly pay are provided, with benefits commonly offered to eligible employees. This role requires CDL or CLP, physical capability to lift and move freight, and the ability to follow dispatch instructions and safety

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL or CLP before entering job classification.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMCSA 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convert dollies.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
