Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a CDL-A driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations and deliver between service centers and turn-point locations. The role may include non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work, with a focus on safety and on-time performance.

Essential tasks include pre-trip/post-trip inspections, log maintenance, dock handling, and following Dispatch instructions. Overnight stays and long-distance routes may be required in this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions regarding delays or equipment issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• May perform city driver or freight handler duties as needed.
• Operate freight handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
