Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver-warehouse teammate to operate tractor-trailers, perform dock duties, and participate in safety inspections. The role involves handling freight with forklifts and pallet jacks, securing cargo, and communicating with Dispatch about delays or updates.

Qualifications include a Class A CDL or CLP, acceptable MVR, and DOT regulatory compliance. Lifting up to 100 pounds and working varied hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or a commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to ~100 pounds several times a day.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
