Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver/ dock associate to operate tractor-trailer combinations, perform safety inspections, and manage freight handling at the dock. Responsibilities include hook/unhook, loading, securing freight, and coordinating with Dispatch on delays or issues.

Qualified candidates must hold a Class A CDL or CLP, meet DOT/MVR standards, and be able to lift up to 100 pounds regularly. This role requires teamwork and the ability to work independently in varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or commercial learner permit (CLP).
• Must possess acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regs.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down sets of trailers that require approx. 100 lb lift.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds several times a day.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip/post-trip/inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convertor dollies.
• Move freight with forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding.
