Qualifications

• . Must possess a class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• . Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards
• . Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations
• . Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator
• . Basic written and verbal communication skills
• . Ability to lift up to 100 pounds multiple times daily

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles and straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Move freight using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Collect checks for freight charges and maintain related records.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding.
• Follow Dispatch instructions regarding delays, arrivals, equipment issues.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Determine pick-up/delivery needs with customers.
• Seek additional business leads for sales.
• Occasionally perform road driver or freight handler duties.
• Chain vehicle tires as needed.
• Follow laws and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
