Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a CDL driver for tractor-trailer operations in a hands-on, dock-based role. You will perform pre-trip inspections, move freight, and use equipment to load, unload, and secure shipments while following DOT regulations and company procedures.

The position requires a valid Class A license, solid math and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Expect varied shifts and adherence to safety standards in a logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MVR-based hiring standards.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations under FMC rules.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Collect checks for freight charges and maintain related documentation.
