Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver/dock associate to operate tractor-trailers and perform non-driving duties including forklift operation and dock work. Starting pay is $25.64 per hour, with responsibilities spanning pre-trip inspections, trailer hooking, freight handling, and coordination with Dispatch.

Qualifications

• CDL/CLP required before entering job classification.
• MVR must meet hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds several times a day.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip/post-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, equipment issues, etc.
• Provide customer service and determine pick-up/delivery needs.
• Assist with road driver or freight handler duties when needed.
