Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a skilled tractor-trailer operator to drive and deliver between service centers and turn-point locations. You may also perform non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work.

The role requires a valid CDL or CLP, solid MVR, and compliance with DOT regulations, with emphasis on safety, logs, and documentation. Starting pay is $24.42 per hour and schedules may vary, including overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• CDL or CLP required prior to entering job classification.
• Acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regs must be met.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, calculator optional.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles and straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies to/from tractor/trailer.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, or problems.
• Follow hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Demonstrate internal/external customer service.
• Potentially perform city driver or freight handler duties.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack or hand truck as needed.
• Chain vehicle tires when required.
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
