Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring a driver/dock associate to operate tractor-trailer units and perform related duties at our facility. You will conduct safety inspections, handle freight with equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, and secure loads for transit.

The role includes coordinating with dispatch, meeting customer pickup/delivery needs, and adhering to DOT regulations. Starting pay is $25.64 per hour, with opportunities to participate in safety programs and improve freight handling skills on

Qualifications

• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight using motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Collect checks for freight charges and maintain records.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding.
