Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations and to perform non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work. Starting rate of pay is $25.64 per hour, with a focus on safety and efficiency across daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or commercial learning permit (CLP).
• Must have acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT FMC regulations (part 391).
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up/break down trailers requiring ~100 lb lift.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to 100 lbs several times a week.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip/post-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch on delays, arrivals, or problems.
• Provide internal/external customer service and identify new business leads.
• Occasionally perform road driver or freight handler duties.
