Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a driver for tractor-trailer operation, including doubles and straight trucks, with dock duties and forklift experience. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and secure freight.

Excellent safety and customer service are essential as you support pick-ups, deliveries, and dispatch communications. The role requires a Class A CDL or CLP, strong math and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or CLP required.
• Acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements under FMCSA 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor/trailer.
• Handle freight using motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required paperwork and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch on delays, arrivals, equipment issues.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Assist customers with pick-up/delivery needs and solicit new business.
• Drive according to DOT rules and company procedures.
• Work in day/night shifts, with varying hours and exposure to noise.
