Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a licensed driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations between service centers and turn-point locations. Responsibilities include pre-trip and post-trip inspections, logging hours, and following Dispatch instructions to ensure on-time deliveries.

The role may involve forklift operation and dock work. If needed, duties may include city driving. A CDL or CLP, valid MVR, and DOT compliance are required. Starting pay is $25.64 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or commercial learning permit (CLP).
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down sets of trailers requiring ~100 lb lift.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Follow Dispatch instructions for delays, arrivals, or equipment issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding where required.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Potentially perform city driving or freight handling duties as needed.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck when necessary.
• Chain vehicle tires and comply with all laws and company policies.
