Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL driver responsible for operating tractor-trailer equipment, including doubles and straight trucks, and performing pre-trip/post-trip inspections. The role requires a CDL/CLP, DOT knowledge, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or a commercial learning permit (CLP).
• MVR acceptable per hiring standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift ~100 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform required training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles and straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Perform forklift or dock duties as needed.
• Use appropriate equipment for freight handling and tire chaining.
• Follow all laws, regulations, and company policies.
