Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a CDL driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations between service centers and turn-point locations in Nebraska. The role includes pre-trip/post-trip inspections, log maintenance, and adherence to DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL (or CLP) before entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift and handle freight as described (≈100 pounds) several times a day.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and required documentation.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions on delays/arrivals.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• May perform city driver or freight handler duties as needed.
• Freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
