Job summary

FedEx Freight in Buffalo is seeking a qualified driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations and perform safety inspections, logging, and paperwork. You may also assist on the dock or with forklift operations as needed.

Responsibilities include daily logs, dispatch communications, and hazmat compliance. Strong math, communication, and ability to work independently or with a team are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or a CLP prior to entering job classification.
• MVR must meet hiring standards.
• Know and follow DOT FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math with or without a calculator.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to hook up and break down sets of trailers daily.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies as required.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and complete required reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch about delays, arrivals, or equipment issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as needed.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Possibly perform duties of a city driver or freight handler when needed.
• Use forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck for freight handling when required.
