Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a professional for tractor-trailer operation with a CDL. You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and handle freight with various equipment in a load-ready dock environment.

The role emphasizes safety, proper documentation, and customer service while conducting pickups, deliveries, and potential lead generation for new opportunities. This is a hands-on, full-time position in a dynamic logistics setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds several times a week.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from tractors/trailers.
• Freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch on delays, arrivals, and equipment issues.
• Provide internal/external customer service and determine pickup/delivery needs.
