Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a Support CDL Driver to fill in on open routes and support daily delivery operations. The position requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules while upholding safety, service, and delivery standards.

The starting wage is $24.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience, with overtime paid after 40 hours. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for CDL Class-A drivers.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program
• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Ability to pass a DOT physical

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks and other duties as needed
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Collect payments as needed
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Travel may be required
• Perform other required duties as assigned
