FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers, supporting the selling process.

You will perform daily pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and secure freight using pallets, straps, and rope. Communicate with dispatch and customers, collect freight charges when required, and ensure DOT compliance. Starting rate of pay is $32.20 per hour, with full-time opportunities and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials and tank endorsements (Automatic transmission restriction allowed).
• Must possess one (1) year experience within most recent three (3) years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the FMC regulations.
• Hazardous Materials endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of offer acceptance.

Responsabilités

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples and straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Collect cash or checks for freight charges and maintain documentation.
• Communicate with dispatch about delays, arrivals and equipment problems.
• Engage with customers to determine pick-up/delivery needs and solicit additional business.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Advise sales with leads for new opportunities.
• Follow all laws/regulations and company policies.
