Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dedicated driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, while supporting the selling process. You will operate tractor-trailer combinations, perform daily inspections, secure loads, and ensure accurate documentation.

The role requires DOT compliance, hazmat/tank endorsements, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. One year of recent experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to count and perform basic math.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to sit, bend, twist, and lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Demonstrates safety awareness and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and connect converter dollies.
• Handle freight with motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
• Secure freight inside trailers and perform basic load documentation.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding pick-up/delivery needs.
• Solicit additional business and provide leads to sales.
