Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is hiring a driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers in the United States.

The role involves operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks, performing pre-trip inspections, securing freight, and supporting sales by soliciting additional business. Qualifications include a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, at least 1 year of driving experience or completion of the FedEx Driver Development Course, and compliance with DOT

Qualifications

Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
One year experience within the last three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
Must meet MVR standards and DOT regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Operate tractor-trailer or straight trucks.
Perform daily pre-trip inspections.
Hook/unhook trailers and dollies.
Handle freight with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
Secure freight in trailers with pallets, straps, and ropes.
Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
Complete documentation and reports as required.
Comply with hazmat regulations and DOT procedures.
Collect payments for freight charges when required and maintain records.
Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
Communicate with customers to determine pickup/delivery needs and solicit additional business.
Request additional business opportunities from customers.
May chain vehicle tires when required.
May perform road driver or dock duties as needed.
Follow all laws and company policies.
