Job summary

Waste Management is seeking CDL-qualified drivers to operate heavy-duty trucks for front, side, or rear-end loading. You will transport waste or recyclables to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities, handling containers over 1,000 pounds with careful backing maneuvers.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to questions, and complete reports.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
• Conducts pre- and post-trip inspections and documents checks via DVIR.
• Reports unsafe situations or service issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Attends training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Works with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and practices.
• Notifies Ops Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notifies Ops Manager or Dispatch about service interruptions and hazards.
• Communicates customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Dumps all receptacles and leaves the site clean.
• Follows route assignments and completes end-of-day paperwork.
• Assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
