Job summary

Performance Food Group (New) is seeking a Yard Driver to move tractor trailers safely between loading docks and designated parking areas, while adhering to DOT regulations and company safety standards.

The role requires pre/post trip inspections, proper paperwork handling for offsite maintenance, and ensuring all equipment is secured at shift end. A strong safety mindset and reliable overtime availability are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience required.
• 6-12 months of tractor trailer experience preferred.
• Must be able to work scheduled times and overtime.
• Valid CDL A license required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing/certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.

Responsibilities

• Perform all required safety checks (i.e. pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately report any safety hazards.
• Safely move trailers to/from loading docks and to/from designated parking area.
• Handle and return all necessary paperwork related to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facility interactions.
• Ensure that tractor, trailer and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
• At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
