Qualifications

• 2-4 years of transportation experience and/or training.
• Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not required.
• Certificate of DOT regulations training is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently.
• Knowledge of SOPs and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of transportation associates.
• Ensures compliance with DOT, OSHA and other regulatory agencies; maintains accurate logs.
• Oversees labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
• Prepares work schedules including extra days and shifts.
• Assists with training of new associates and cross-training of existing staff.
• Directs proper selection and utilization of company assets in support of delivery.
• Coordinates required repairs with proper departments as necessary.
• Reviews delivery functions and productivity reporting; suggests efficiency ideas and cost reductions.
• Interprets, trains and enforces company policies, including food safety and record keeping.
• Communicates with warehouse and customer service to resolve delivery issues.
• Visits customer locations to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.
• Maintains positive associate relations through regular meetings and open communication.
• Monitors morale and solicits ideas to improve engagement and enablement.
• Works with safety manager on training, observations, and safety inspections.
• Performs staff selection, development, discipline, and performance reviews.
