Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to support the manager/director in overseeing delivery and backhaul activities. The role involves training and supervising transportation staff, ensuring compliance with DOT and safety protocols, and promoting secure transportation operations.

CDL A is required for this position, with the expectation to maintain regulatory compliance and lead a safety-focused team in a dynamic distribution environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 2-4 years of transportation experience and/or training.
• Commercial Vehicle Drivers must have the ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway signs, respond to inquiries, and make entries on records.
• Certificate of DOT regulations training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of transportation associates, ensuring SOPs and food safety standards are followed.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies (DOT, OSHA) and maintains up-to-date electronic logs.
• Manages labor hours and consumables within budget; prepares work schedules and shifts as needed.
• Trains new associates and cross-trains existing staff.
• Directs proper selection and use of company assets to support delivery operations.
