Job summary

Red Hawk Trucking is seeking CDL-A trainee drivers for its Mentor Program. Fresh out of CDL school, you start with onboarding, a trainer, and a path to solo driving with a guaranteed weekly paycheck.

Expect a 7‑day onboarding, a period of on‑the‑road training with a mentor, and pay including $0.50 per mile after you become solo, with weekly earnings around $1,300–$1,400 and benefits after probation. Sundays off and room to grow are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Age 21+ and a valid Class A CDL
• CDL school completed in the last 12 months, with no trucking employer since
• Max 4 moving violations in the past 3 years
• No DUI/DWI in the past 5 years
• Urine drug test and DOT physical

Responsibilities

• No touch dry van, mostly drop and hook
• Steady direct freight from customers
• 1–2 weeks out, 6 days a week, Sundays off for a full reset

Fresh out of CDL school and wondering what a real first year looks like? Think $1,300 to $1,400 a week once you are solo, a paycheck every Friday, and a mentor who rides with you until you are ready.

How Training Works

• A 7 day onboarding class to start, with your hotel paid and $100 toward food
• Your skills get checked early, and you get more practice if you need it
• Then at least 10 days on the road with a mentor, earning $75 a day while you learn
• You put in a minimum of 5 driving hours a day and follow a step by step checklist
• Female trainees train with female mentors
• Pass the backing check, pre-trip and road test, and the next truck you climb into is yours
• New solo drivers start at $0.50 per mile with 2,000 safe miles a week, the same rate a 10 year driver starts at
• More miles, more money: 2,600 miles pays around $1,300
• Extra 8 to 10 cents per mile weekly for the best performers
• $15 an hour detention after 2 hours, $15 for each extra stop, $100 breakdown pay

On the Road

• No touch dry van, mostly drop and hook
• Steady freight from direct customers, not the load board
• 1 to 2 weeks out, 6 days a week, every Sunday off for a full reset
