Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a professional truck driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, coupling/uncoupling, documentation, logs, and compliance with DOT regulations and hazardous materials rules.

Candidates must hold a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, have some recent driving experience, and be able to lift and move heavy loads.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• Must have 1 year experience within the last 3 years or complete FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC 391.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from tractor and/or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies.
