Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc is seeking a heavy-duty driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations. The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat/double-triple endorsements and adherence to DOT regulations.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, trailer hookups, document verification, log maintenance, and compliance with hazardous material rules.

Qualifications

• CDL A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• 1 year experience in the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR 391.
• LCV qualifications for listed states (AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD, UT).
• Basic written and verbal communication; ability to lift ~100 lbs; sit and move as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and DOT procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and report delays or issues.
• May perform chaining of tires; may cover city driver or dock duties as needed.
• Load and unload freight as required.
