Job summary

GFL is seeking a Residential Driver to safely collect waste and recyclables on curbside and backdoor routes. You will operate side-load or rear-load trucks, load materials, and compact trash while following all safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires a CDL, at least 1 year of driving experience or CDL school, and the ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Overtime may be requested and customer interactions are a key part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is desired.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria and demonstrate safe operation of the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection truck and equipment on assigned routes.
• Load solid waste and recyclables into the vehicle and compact materials as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain records.
• Report mechanical issues promptly and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Maintain route quality and adhere to safety policies; overtime may be required.
• Communicate effectively with customers and supervisor; assist with route improvements.
