Job summary

American Driver LLC in Billings, MT is seeking drivers for OTR miles across all 48 states. Trainees receive paid mentor training, then solo with their own truck. Expect about $1,400 a week once solo, with $1,000 weekly minimum during the first 3 months solo, and weekly direct deposit.

Routes cover all 48 states, usually away about two weeks with time at home; winter driving is part of the job. Must hold CDL-A, meet experience and safety requirements, and pass DOT physical.

• New CDL grad with 120+ hours of schooling.
• 6 months of recent experience.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.
• No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years.
• DOT physical and hair and urine drug screen.

What you earn

Your week

OTR lanes in all 48 states. Out about two weeks, then home. Day and night dispatch. Winter driving comes with the territory.

What new drivers ask us

• "How often will I see home?" Every two weeks.
• "Does my CDL school count?" If it was 120 hours or more, yes.
• "I am not good at backing yet." Nobody is on day one. You practice for weeks with a mentor beside you before you drive alone.
• "Do I pay for orientation?" No. Hotel covered, bus ticket reimbursed, and $300 once you are hired.
• "What if my first solo weeks are slow?" You still get at least $1,000 a week for your first 3 months solo.

What happens after you apply

A recruiter calls the same business day and goes over your license and record with you. Orientation takes 2 days at most; the hotel is covered, your bus ticket is reimbursed, and you get $300 for attending once hired. Then you ride 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor who coaches you on backing, logs, fueling and trip planning, and you are paid every week while you learn. When you are ready, you get your own assigned truck, about 1.5 years old on average. For your first 3 months solo, your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week.
