Job summary

American Driver LLC in the Lafayette area is hiring Class A CDL drivers, including brand-new holders. If you finish CDL school with 120+ hours, you qualify. You’ll train with a mentor and move to solo driving with full solo pay.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL issued by your state of residence.
• 21 years or older.
• CDL-school graduate with 120+ hours, or verifiable experience.
• 2 or fewer moving violations in the past 2 years; no DUI/DWI in the past 10 years.
• DOT physical and hair and urine drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Train with a mentor during paid training.
• Drive solo in your assigned late-model truck.
• Follow dispatch instructions and manage miles and routes.

Job description

Lafayette-area Class A drivers: $1,200 to $1,800 a week, and a company that hires brand-new CDL holders.

"No experience" is the most common reason new drivers get turned down. Here it isn't a reason. If you finished CDL school with 120+ hours, you qualify.

From new CDL to solo driver

1. Apply. A recruiter calls you the same business day.
2. Train one-on-one with an experienced mentor. You're paid during training.
3. Go solo in your own assigned truck at full solo pay.
4. Your benefits start after 30 days.

Solo pay

• $1,200 to $1,800 a week, about $62,400 to $93,600 a year
• Mileage pay plus $15 per stop
• 1,800 to 2,900 miles a week
• Weekly direct deposit

Where you'll run

OTR lanes everywhere east of Denver, except the Northeast. It's a big map with a lot of freight, and that's what keeps your miles up. Expect drop-and-hook, live loads, live unloads and preloads. You're out about two weeks, then home. Dispatch is there 24/7.

Your truck

A late-model automatic or 10-speed, about 1.5 years old, assigned to you.
