Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL-A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, complete required reports, and maintain logs while complying with DOT regulations. Overnight stays may be required depending on schedule.

Starting pay includes per-mile and hourly rates; HazMat endorsement is encouraged and may impact assignments.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• Minimum 1 year experience within the last 3 years, or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and required documentation.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues to dispatch.
