Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL‑trained driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, documenting work, maintaining logs, and complying with DOT regulations. The role offers mileage and hourly pay, with extensive benefits and advancement opportunities within FedEx Freight.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• 1 year of experience in the last 3 years, or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR under hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR part 383/391.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook/unhook trailers and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles/triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and adhere to dispatch instructions.
• Load and unload freight as required and comply with laws and company policies.
