Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, while supporting the sales process. Starting pay is $29.83 per hour. Responsibilities include operating tractors, performing pre-trip inspections, securing freight, and handling documentation.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat/doubles/triples endorsements, valid MVR, and DOT compliance. You will work independently or with a team and may perform related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• One year of experience within the last three years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds multiple times weekly.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, and climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
