Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a professional driver to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers while supporting the selling process.

You will operate tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles/triples where applicable), perform pre-trip inspections and ensure safe, compliant freight handling. This position requires a valid Class A CDL with HazMat and tank endorsements, DOT qualifications, the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and the willingness to follow dispatch

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials and tank endorsements.
• One (1) year experience within the most recent three (3) years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards
• Must meet DOT requirements under FMC regulations

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles/triples where applicable) and/or straight trucks
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies
• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to determine pickup/delivery needs and solicit additional business
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service
• May be required to perform chaining of vehicle tires
• May be required to perform duties of road driver or dock employee as needed
