Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a professional driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers in Ohio.

The role includes operating tractor-trailer combinations, performing pre-trip inspections, securing loads, and maintaining accurate documentation while supporting the sales process. Qualifications include a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements, at least one year of eligible driving experience or completion of FedEx Driver Development Course,

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year experience within the last three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• LCV qualifications in listed states including OH and others.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or triples and straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Collect payments for freight charges and maintain records.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch and customers.
• Solicit additional business and provide leads to sales.
• May perform chaining of vehicle tires; may assume road driver or dock duties as needed.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
