Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a professional CDL-A driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. You will perform pre-trip inspections and safely operate tractor-trailers, including doubles/triples where applicable.

The role requires hazmat and other endorsements, a clean MVR, and DOT regulatory knowledge. You will engage customers, support sales opportunities, and comply with all safety regulations while ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• CDL license with double/triple endorsements; automatic transmission allowed.
• 1 year experience within last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• DOT FMC Regulation knowledge (Part 391) required.
• LCV operations require qualification in listed states.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies as needed.
• Freight handling using forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
• Collect payments as required and maintain documentation.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Communicate with customers to determine pick-up/delivery needs.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service; seek additional business.
