Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring a driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, supporting the selling process. Starting rate is $32.20 per hour.

The role includes operating tractor-trailer combinations, performing pre-trip inspections, and handling freight with various equipment. You will secure freight, complete documentation, comply with DOT regulations, and communicate with dispatch and customers to determine needs and generate additional business.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year of driving experience or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• MVR meets hiring standards and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with DOT rules and company policies.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding pickups, deliveries and delays.
• Ask for additional business and provide leads to sales.
