Job summary

Airgas, Inc. is seeking a Driver Trainer (CDL A) to train new drivers at locations in Hyattsville, MD and surrounding areas. The role includes leading onboarding for two days and coordinating a three‑week onboarding period with local safety mentors.

The ideal candidate has a valid Class A CDL, Hazmat/Tanker/Airbrakes endorsements, a Medical Examiner's Card, and DOT knowledge. Travel up to 50% with occasional overnight stays is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Hazmat, Tanker & Airbrakes endorsements.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• One year of Class A driving in the last five years with a clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Requires 50% travel with potential overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Train new drivers and conduct onboarding as part of a two-day onboarding class.
• Work with struggling drivers to correct bad habits identified by the LYTX camera system.
• Assist with vehicle accident investigations.
• Participate in safety assist visits to locations, including ride‑alongs and driver evaluations.
