Job summary

Airgas, Inc. is seeking a Driver Trainer (CDL A) to train new drivers at locations in Hyattsville, MD and surrounding areas. The role includes leading onboarding for two days and coordinating a three‑week onboarding period with local safety mentors.

The ideal candidate has a valid Class A CDL, Hazmat/Tanker/Airbrakes endorsements, a Medical Examiner's Card, and DOT knowledge. Travel up to 50% with occasional overnight stays is required.

Qualifications

• Work with struggling drivers to correct bad habits identified by the LYTX camera system.
• Assist with vehicle accident investigations.
• Participate in safety assist visits to locations, including ride‑alongs and driver evaluations.

Pay Range: $32.50 - $36.50/Hr

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Hazmat, Tanker & Airbrakes Endorsements.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• One year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five years and a clean driving record (no more than two convictions, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• 50% travel and potential overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in Manager or supervisory role.
• Minimum 3-5 years commercial driving experience.
