Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking an entry level Driver Trainee in Maryland to learn tractor trailer or straight truck deliveries on local and regional routes. You will train under a driver mentor, perform DOT-compliant safety checks, and progressively take on deliveries to customers such as restaurants, hotels, and healthcare facilities.

The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and compliance, with growth opportunities as you gain CDL credentials and driving experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• Valid CDL A required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete the Driver Trainee/Training Program as required.
• Ride with and assist driver trainer during deliveries and trainings.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations and report issues.
• Drive to and deliver orders according to schedule and unload at customer sites.
• Complete required paperwork and ensure proper signatures and cash handling where applicable.
