Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee for Manassas, VA (or Sterling, VA). You will train to operate tractor-trailer or straight truck routes delivering food products, while learning safety, DOT compliance, and customer service protocols.

Responsibilities include on-the-job training, route deliveries, unloading, paperwork, and adherence to DOT guidelines. Competitive benefits start Day 1, with significant first-year earnings potential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL A license and ability to obtain CDL Permit and DOT Health Card.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years and pass post-offer drug test.
• Pass road test and meet state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete Driver Trainee or Dock-to-Driver program.
• Assist driver trainer with deliveries and follow instructions.
• Perform safety checks and inspections per DOT regulations.
• Drive to deliver customer orders on scheduled routes.
• Unload items, verify deliveries, obtain signatures, and collect payments when required.
• Ensure secure loading, proper paperwork, and housekeeping of tractor/trailer.
• Maintain hours-of-service documentation per Federal DOT requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
