Job summary

Performance Foodservice is hiring an entry level Driver Trainee to learn tractor trailer and straight truck delivery across intrastate and interstate routes. You will be trained to safely deliver and unload food products while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.

This role starts with a structured driver training program, including shadowing a trainer, completing safety checks, and learning route delivery processes.

Qualifications

• CDL A required.
• MVR clean for past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test.

Responsibilities

• Attends and completes entry level driver trainee program.
• Rides-with and assists driver trainer during deliveries.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations; report issues.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer loads, complete paperwork, and secure freight.
• Drive to deliver orders according to route schedule.
• Unload products, verify deliveries, and obtain signatures; handle returns as needed.
• Ensure tractor and trailer are secured when not in use.
• Unload damaged goods and returns; complete necessary paperwork.
• Maintain daily hours-of-service records; complete paperwork.
• Perform housekeeping in tractor and loading dock area.
