Job summary

McLane is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn the essential functions of the Driver role, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse operations as part of the developmental process toward becoming a McLane Driver.

As you train, you will earn $24.50 per hour, with potential to make $70,000 to $110,000 after training. Day 1 benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, and other programs are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Ability and willingness to load/unload and/or deliver all products ordered by McLane customers.
• Read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient for tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment and submit DOT inspection report.
• Document delivery receipts and product temperatures with the Driver Delivery Handheld.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn regulations and operating procedures.
• Maintain driver log per DOT regulations.
• Assist the Driver in unloading trailer and delivering product to customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.
