Job summary

McLane seeks a Driver Trainee to learn essential functions of the Driver position, including accurate, timely distribution to various customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse and operational duties as part of the developmental program to become a McLane Driver.

Training phases prepare you for a career with strong pay growth, robust benefits from Day 1, and the opportunity to advance within a nationwide distribution network.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Obtain Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
  • Read labels and bills of lading; perform basic math.
  • Communicate with customers and teammates; safe driving mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Maneuver tractor and secure trailer for deliveries.
  • Operate truck safely per regulations and policies.
  • Submit DOT inspection reports and document product temps.
  • Use DDH to document deliveries and temps; verify receipts.
  • Ride with Driver Trainer to learn routes and regulations.
  • Maintain driver logs per DOT rules.
  • Assist in unloading and delivering products.
  • Other duties as assigned.
