Job summary

McLane is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn the essential functions of the Driver role, including distribution of products to customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse and operations during the developmental process toward becoming a McLane Driver.

Responsibilities include training with a Driver Trainer, meeting safety standards, and progressing toward Class A CDL within six months. Competitive pay, day-one benefits, and a clear career path are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Inspect equipment and submit inspection reports.
• Document delivery receipts and product temperatures using DDH.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to gain knowledge of regulations and driving techniques.
• Maintain driver log per DOT regulations.
