Job summary

McLane is hiring a Driver Trainee to learn essential functions of the Driver role, including distribution to customer locations and exposure to warehouse operations during development into a full McLane Driver.

You’ll start with training pay of $24.50 an hour and progress to a driving position earning $70,000–$110,000 per year. Day-1 benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, with 401(k) after 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Ability to load/deliver products as ordered.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment and submit DOT reports.
• Operate DDH and document deliveries and temperatures.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn routes and regulations.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering product to customers.
• Other duties as assigned.
